This site is for foreign-national seniors living in Japan, for families supporting a relative from overseas or at a distance, and for people weighing a later-life move. We write without skipping the parts that are “obvious in Japan,” and we make sure the same information is reachable in English as in Japanese. That is where our editing starts.
Who writes and reviews it
Japan Care Concierge is operated with the care-service experience of Social Welfare Corporation Shinkou Fukushikai and its Cross Heart services in Kanagawa. Articles and guides are produced by our editorial team under the supervision of staff who hold care qualifications such as Certified Care Worker (Kaigo Fukushishi) and Care Manager (Kaigo Shien Senmonin), drawing on the operator’s hands-on care experience. Details about the operator are on the About page.
For medical and care topics that carry real weight for families, we reconcile drafts with primary sources and the operator’s knowledge before publishing, and consult care or medical professionals where needed. The names, qualifications, and affiliations of the reviewers will appear on the About page once we can publish them by name. We will not list a reviewer name or credential that does not actually exist in order to manufacture trust.
How content is researched and sourced
System explanations are based on official primary sources: the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, official law translations, and municipal public information. Each article lists its references at the end, with the date they were checked. Because implementation, subsidies, and availability differ by municipality, we describe national rules in general terms and say so explicitly rather than presenting one municipality’s practice as universal. We do not publish figures we cannot trace to a source, or information that rests on hearsay.
Fact-checking and pre-publish quality checks
Rules, figures, and proper nouns are verified against primary sources as we write. On top of that, every deploy runs automated checks across the built site: metadata length and uniqueness, duplicate titles and descriptions, structured-data validity, duplicate FAQ questions, broken internal links, and language-alternate consistency. Content that fails these checks does not ship.
Editorial independence
We do not bend content for revenue. We accept no referral commissions from facilities or providers, so no article exists to steer readers toward a paying provider, and no advertiser or partner decides our ratings or ordering. Comparisons and caveats are applied by the same standard even to services with a capital relationship to the operator (Cross Heart and Home Instead Japan).
Dates and review cadence
The publication date on every article is the date it actually went live, and an update date is added only when the substance of an article changes. We do not backdate, postdate, or rotate dates for search-engine purposes. Structured data and the sitemap carry the same real dates shown on the page. Articles that contain rules or figures are revisited at points where they can go stale, such as policy revisions or the turn of the fiscal year, and any change is reflected in the update date.
How we write
We avoid jargon where we can and gloss it where we cannot. Pages that exist in both languages are kept consistent, so you reach the same facts whether you read English or Japanese. We do not use alarmist language or push you toward a conclusion. The aim is to leave you able to judge, for yourself, what to check next.
What our content is not
Nothing on this site is medical, legal, tax, or individual care advice. Medical judgments belong with physicians, legal judgments with licensed professionals, and care decisions with the people involved and the professionals who can see the specific situation. Our articles exist to orient, so that those conversations start from a clearer picture. If a situation needs urgent help, use the appropriate contact first, such as 119 or a local emergency line.
Corrections and feedback
If you find an error or something that has gone out of date, tell us through the contact form with the article URL. We review reports against primary sources, correct what is wrong, and add an update date where warranted. Substantive corrections are not silent. We welcome comments and suggestions through the same channel.
