Every move between bed, wheelchair, toilet, and car is a transfer, and it is where a frail parent is most likely to fall. Helpers are trained to use the parent's own strength and a stable pivot rather than lifting by the arms. When transfers start needing two people, that is a signal to reassess, not to push through. Ask the care manager about grab rails, a transfer board, or a covered lift before a family member hurts their back or the parent falls.
